NEU Swansea has been running an LGBT+ Inclusion and Equality Campaign to support schools with their preparations for the RSE element of the new curriculum.
The campaign has provided free training opportunities to all education employees in Swansea and has also provided free resources to every LA school within the Swansea. Resources have also been provided to Gower College.
NEU Swansea has partnered with organisations including Educate and Celebrate and Pop ‘n’ Olly to deliver high quality CPD and supply resources to schools. If you would like further information or advice, please visit their websites. Both have free and paid membership options that provide a wealth of information and resources.
As part of the campaign, Swansea NEU will help comprehensive schools set up LGBT+ Pride Student Groups. If you would like to discuss this further, please email David.Tiltman@neu.org.uk .
The NEU also has produced resources for supporting LGBTQ+ staff and students. These are available by accessing the links below. We have also listed a number of external websites to support schools. Please note, the NEU is not responsible for the content on these websites.
The National Education Union has developed resources which will help you create an LGBT+ inclusive environment in your school/college, for both students and staff.
